It's been a while!

Sorry for the time lapse in posts! We have been quite busy since the last post. We had my cousin Jimmy's wedding which was so much fun, and Grandma Busby came in for a visit while Mark & I went on a small vacation to Punta Cana! We had a great time and the kids had a fabulous time with Grandma. The kids went to their first 4th of July parade and I think they liked it! The fire engines were a little scary at first but they got adjusted quickly.

We received an offer on the house (hooray!) and are in the process of getting things togeterh so we can close soon.

I've taken a new job at a community hospital in the ICU and am looking forward to a new experience! It's nice to have weekends to spend time with Mark & the kids. We have been to the county fair where Charlie decided he doesn't care for animals other than dogs, we took a trip to the Dupage Children's Museum which the kids LOVED, and we also had our 1st lunch at Chuck E. Cheese! We had alot of fun with the kids, and I think they've had fun with us, too!!!

We also took the kids to get their hair cut and they both did great!! Here are some pictures from the events over the past few weeks...Enjoy!

Is it Friday already??

This week has flown by! The kids have gone to Anne's (daycare) house twice this week and made crafts for Father's Day! They also got to go in the swimming pool (blow up wading pool) at her house. She asked Mark if they like the bath because they screamed when she took them out! NEWSFLASH! Maddie is cautiously walking more than a few steps!!! And she's SO proud of her self-and she should be-SHE'S A BIG GIRL NOW! We also went to the park the other night and the kids had a blast on all the fun stuff. They love the swing and had a great time! Here's a clip of the swing....

Weekend with Dad

As I worked all weekend, the kids were left with Dad. We had some showings so he was able to bring the kids up to work for lunch. I swear these kids make me look like a liar! Charlie was as quiet as can be, sucking his finger as if he is Mommy's angel. And Madeline was all smiles for everyone which is unusual as she usually cries whenever she doesn't know someone. I think my coworkers think I'm telling stories of how much Maddie cries or how Charlie hits and bites. I have a funny feeling this is the beginning of making mommy look like she's fibbing......

Lovers & Fighters

Charlie has discovered how to hit things: Bo, Polly, Kelsey, and Madeline. And poor Maddie just takes it and cries. Then she proceeds to crawl in my lap and cuddle with me. Madeline is definitely my lover, while Charlie is the fighter. We try to tell him no and put him in his crib when he has bad behavior, but we don't know what else to do. Any suggestions? Otherwise I'm afraid he'll be the class bully (with all the boogers!) !

A moment of silence....

Ahhh....isn't is beautiful??? The kiddies are napping, as they decided to get us up at 515 for their AM drink. And as much as we try to resist going in and getting them, it's the morning and they are ready for their MILK! They babble back and forth, laughing at each other and speaking a language only Charlie & Maddie seem to understand. We laid there and listened for a bit, laughing right along with them, when we decided they weren't going back to sleep so we weren't either. They drank their milk and were ready to go back to bed. So here I sit with a quiet moment. Ahhhhh....
Yesterday was a day of firsts for us, as we got a library card! We ventured in town and got registered with the local library. They have a summer reading program for kids and as books are finished, the library awards prizes! So we got our logs and borrowed some new books (as the old ones are boring and they don't sit still) to get the summer started! They actually sat for the whole book and laughed while I read it. We have a few more to read and then we'll head back to the library for more.
We also had our 1st happy meals from McDonald's! Yes, I am a horrible parent and am contributing to childhood obesity, blah blah blah. We all love a little Mickey D's every now & then and Charlie & Maddie do too! They gobbled their cheeseburgers and had a few fries, and were ready for their afternoon naps. We're looking forward to taking the kids to a playland sometime this summer and doing it again!!
